ADAPT HUMAN PERFORMANCE FORUM WITH DENNIS GENTILIN
Adapt Human Performance Forum – #5
Keynote Speaker: Dennis Gentilin – author & authority on Leading with Ethics
Date: Fri 17 May 2019
ADAPT were delighted to host our 5th Executive Human Performance Forum partnership with Dennis Gentilin speaking with us about, Leading with Ethics.
Dennis’ interest in governance, ethics and conduct was forged by a formative career experience in which he was publicly named as the NAB 2004 “whistleblower”. This incident sparked his intellectual curiosity and was the catalyst for a journey of discovery. He spent a considerable amount of time over the past decade working to deepen his understanding of what causes ethical failure within organisations. The result is his book titled “The Origins of Ethical Failures”. Dennis then spent a short period of time running his own advisory firm before joining the Governance, Regulation and Conduct practice in Deloitte’s Melbourne office.
A warm thank you to our twenty-five client partners who represented the Private Equity, Portfolio, Family Office, Listed and Property & Investment markets at a C-Suite and Chief People Officers who all came along and participated in the discussion over an engaging breakfast.
Key Leadership insights included:
- Dennis’ background and what drove his interest in governance, ethics and conduct.
- How, as humans, we are all susceptible.
- The features of the environment that can cause us to behave in unethical ways.
- How groups can cause us to behave in ways we wouldn’t when acting alone.

Client Partner Feedback:
Thank you – it was great. Dennis’ story is amazing and that discussion on ethics and reward was a very interesting one to debate on! As the company Whistleblower Office it’s good to have some insight into ‘when things go bad’.

I thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast, both from a networking perspective and content/speaker point of view. One of the best events I have been to in a while.
